So what's with all the Chuck...damnit we already did that.

Stop being gay homosexuals and asking people to ask questions. In a way we're all like Tanner, high as a kite. Damnit he was a good man. Still is, wherever he is. Tanner, we love you. I just took a major bong hit. I hate you bye.

  4. Look, everything out sucks ... I'm a bit burned out ... and the Final Destination screening I went to the other night was cancelled because the print never arrived ... I'm either going to get back into it soon or stop it altogether ... decisions are still being contemplated

  5. I empathize with Hank. The movies out now suck balls. There's nothing to rent, and I don't even want to watch this crap at the $3 theatre. On top of that, I don't see any good comedies coming out in the future. Am I the only person here who thoroughly enjoys Zoolander? Saw it on Comedy Central last night and loved the fact that they had to censor 'Yeah, well you can Derelicte my ****S!'

  6. It's just a slow time, with February being one of the "dumping ground" months for films. When does "History of Violence" come out on DVD? If you've seen everything reviewed at the Sobering Conclusion and beaten Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, then why aren't you looking at porn?

  7. Also, yes - I'm pretty sure you're the only one who enjoys Zoolander.

  8. Sorry Kev, I'm with Ken on this one. While I didn't like it the first go around, I have become a fan of Zoolander. It doesn't rank with the greats like Ghostbusters or even BASEketball for that matter, but it makes me laugh.

And that keeps the rage at bay ... for now.

  9. I don't hate it, just not a fan. Though when I first saw it (a couple years ago at Ken's), I remember being shocked how they made a huge scene out of Paris Hilton's introduction, since the movie was made before she wormed her way into America's spotlight via bad amateur porn.

  10. Not to beat this movie into the ground, but.... what I especially like about it is that they have all these cameos by stars (Natalie Portman, David Bowie, Cuba Gooding, Gwen Stefani, Paris Hilton, Lenny Kravitz etc. which last seconds, but then your extended cameos are BILLY ZANE AND FABIO!

I've been annoyed by movies that have cameos for the sake of fluffling up hollywood egos or creating blatant advertising (see Austin Powers), but I think the movie does a good job using the 'stars' as scenery - and when they are contrasted with the over-the-top characters of Hansel and Derek, it works. In fact, I only know all of the cameos by heart because A. I watched it recently and B. I've seen it a million times. Otherwise, I probably would have forgotten most of them - except for Fabio getting the Slashy award and Billy Zane.

Ian put it best: it's not an Oscar contender, and it really takes several watches to start liking it.

Good point on the Paris cameo. What's funny is I think I always thought he was talking to the dude next to her, because I didn't know who Paris Hilton was at the time. I just figured 'Paris' was some male model.

I think overall, the cast is good. My only complaints in casting were really Christine Taylor (Stiller's wife) and the short role played by his mom. They7 were both pretty stiff. Jerry Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Mila Javkvkavovkvvkvovvioch do a good job. The David Duchovny spot is good also, considering he was coming off a big role in X Files at the time. I saw that the Mugatu Role was originally going to go to Andy Dick. Not sure how that would have turned out. Ferrell does it sooooo over the top, that I couldn't see anyone else doing it as well.

My favorite random scene in the movie is when Christine Taylor's character is doing research and the partner guy comes up to her and announces with excitement that he made them cantelope halves with cottage cheese - but gets rejected.
