Ricky Gervais of BBC's The Office has reprised his character of David Brent in a fake Microsoft training video. Check it out here: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=ricky+gervais+training&hl=en.
Fans of the office will love this. Even better is that it was pulled from You Tube because its parent company is Microsoft.
And there are outtakes after them too!
Finally, an Internet video I can get behind!! The combined length of both clips was over 30 minutes, which basically makes it a free new episode of "The Office". Some quotes to convince anyone who hasn't sat through these to do so:
ReplyDelete"I had to can him by Wednesday, he was awful, but he was honest about it... what he wasn't honest about was the theiving."
"Bill Gates? I bet no one watching this has ever talked to him. It'd be easier to talk to Osama bin Laden."
"My hero? Nelson Mandela... he's been out for what, 13 years? And he hasn't repeat offended. The system works."
"So you could be a beggar?"
"Nooo... I've invested wisely. I'd kill myself before I went through someone's bins."
Also be on the lookout for the "fatigued through intercourse" line... and the whole "so he's just stealing apples??" bit was great. I may never get tired of the David Brent character pulling out a guitar in front of an increasingly exasperated straight-man character.
You hit pretty much all the salient points. I also liked how when the other guy mentioned that they had a high percentage of female employees, Brent mentions that must be a lot of secretaries.
ReplyDeleteFinally got around to watching it. I think the most memorable line to me was the Nelson Mandela one.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that Microsoft has to be ashamed of putting out a tounge-in-cheek training video that was just made to entertain their employees. People are too damn PC.
