As the author mentioned, this game was technically released for the SNES as the "Lost Levels" on the Super Mario Bros. All-Stars cartridge.
That said, I wonder what's actually different between that version and the original Japanese version. According to the author what we ended up getting on SMBA was bullshit, but I played through that version of the game and everything he mentioned sounds familiar. While it's not impossible, it's by far the hardest Mario.
The only reason I didn't rewrite those last 5 words is because I envisioned Ken reading them and then writing a follow-up post saying that was the new album from UPD, and I don't want to discourage that.
